Little Bo Peep

Our little Bo Peep

Emma wasn't exactly thrilled to death to be posing first thing this morning in the heat (it still feels like summer in San Diego :( . So I am hoping that this afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's she's a bit more lively. But at least she has the look of someone that's really sad about loosing her sheep. Even though her favorite sheep is tucked safely under her arm.

Grandpa's Happy to YOU!

Here are some great shots I got of Emma in one of her sailor outfits. I thought it would be appropriate for Grandpa's birthday (or as Emma says it "Happy to you!)

Tuesday Book Review

Fancy Nancy Bonjour Butterfly

This is one of the books that a day can't pass with out Emma begging me to read it to her. It's the only Fancy Nancy book we have but she loves it. Emma now says words like butterflies, Oh no!, ooh la la, practically, oh, yes! iridescent, and you know what?
Like most little girl books, it's a joy to read, full of wonderful illustrations, and fantastic words and manners.
We have even taken to decorating her room in butterflies, which she loves.

Auntie's Bridal Shower

Auntie Andra's Wedding is coming soon and the party is already started. We had a blast on Sunday at her bridal shower. Emma made a late entrance do to the much needed afternoon nap. But was thrilled to get to share a bit of the party and sit on her Auntie's lap.

Emma also made fast friends with the maid of honor Angela. They had a blast playing records at the party on Dad's old record player.

Of course no party is complete until you start horsing around on Grandma's lovely furniture. So glad she wasn't there to witness the craziness of her granddaughter (but grandpa sure did make Emma's day!!). looking all innocent

Tuesday Book Review

Asked Emma again what our book review should be and she went straight for her Thank You Bear and Don't Worry Bear books. These have been two of my most favorite books to read to her. I can read them 4 to 10 times a day and never tire of the message and wonderful illustrations. Thank You Bear was the first book and back in the spring I excitedly picked up the second book Don't Worry Bear. When I was taking it off the shelf, a lady asked me about the book. She said she was looking for a book for a baby shower. Everyone had been asked to bring a book and she wanted something a bit fresh and different. I highly recommended both of these books and when I was at the check out a bit later, there she was getting both books. Emma can spend hours looking at these books and reading them to her stuffed toysIllustrated and Written By Greg Foley who designs and creative directs for Visionaire, V magazine, and VMan.

Each page is delightful and happy.

Tulip Overalls

Outside with her Steiff bear

We had some free time before Grandma came by to go shopping so I decieded to take some photos of Emma in her tulip overalls. I think sometimes there isn't anything cuter than a toddler in overalls. They are still a bit long in the leg, but at the rate Emma grows I'm sure that too will change.Enjoying mommy's art books and magazines

Summer Dresses in October

Eating an orange after a hot morning at the park

Thanks to living in sunny San Diego, I have yet to pack away Emma's summer dresses. I can't believe its October and I am still putting dresses on her that don't have sleeves. I finally got to break out a long sleeved shirt today when we went to the park, but after a bit she did start getting a bit hot and it was time to go home. Can't wait to pull out her fall and winter clothes, but it looks like summer will just turn right into winter (that's if we have one). To keep myself happy I look at pictures of fall in London, and visualize Emma all bundled up playing in the leaves in Hyde Park.

Scaring Daddy

Recently, Emma has been rather fond of the word no.  She utters it as an answer to almost every question.  So this morning, Suzanne and I were having some fun and asking her questions that we wanted to hear "no" answers to.

For example, I asked "Emma, do you think I should have to make breakfast this morning?"
"No."

"Should we get up and clean house?"
"No."

Then I asked, "Are you going to date boys?" and got the fright of my life.  Emma sat up a little straighter and said with all seriousness, "Date boys.  Date boys.  Date boys."  This is not a good omen.  Hours later in the car, while listening to music, Emma piped up with "Date boys.  Date boys.  Date boys."  I guess I learned my lesson.  The teenage years are going to age this already old man!

Halloween Preview

I went and checked out our friends, the Mauser's blog (see link off to the right) and saw that they had published a sneak peek at Lucas' costume. I too had taken a few quick shots of Emma the day Grandma dropped off her costume from our favorite catalog Chasing Fireflies. So I thought what a wonderful I idea, I too must publish some of Emma. Yes Emma is going to be Little Bo Peep. I am going to take better pictures (hopefully this weekend) but you can see just how cute she is going to be. What fun it is having a girl. I have 4 nieces and I don't think either of my sisters ever told me it could be this great with girls.

Mike's Birthday

Emma's Godfather had his birthday this last Sunday. But since it was a Charger game day we stayed in watched the game, cooked my famous risotto, ate a homemade cake, and had loads of laughs.

After Emma got up from her nap, her and Daddy decorated Emma's face, oh wait, I mean decorated the cake!

Getting ready to blow out the candles!

Thank you kisses for a lovely day
