Bad News for all our loyal blog Readers (all both of you)

It may be some few weeks before we are up and posting again. On Thursday I started having problems accessing the hard drive with all the pictures of Emma on it when I went to update her blog. So I decided to leave it until Donald got home to see why everything was running so slowly. At first we thought it was our network sever, but the worst has happened. We lost the hard drive with not only all my art work from the last 6 years, but all our photos too. Some good news is that I did a complete back up of everything about 6 months ago. But there is the fact that the last 6 months I did NO BACKUP. That means Emma's first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday, and any photos in between and after are GONE!! Donald and I have decieded that we are going to go ahead and see if we can't have a company retrieve our files for us. It may cost a lot, but we feel Emma is worth it. We just don't want to loose all those wonderful photos. It is completely my fault it has happened. After years of art school and knowing that you have to do backups weekly, because computers don't worn you that the are going to break down, I should have been more prepared for something like this. After talking to Donald, my Dad and reading a ton on the internet about what happened to the hard drive, it looks like we should get our files back, it just takes money, and a company that specializes in hard drive recovery and then we will be back up and blogging. Please, wish us the best in getting all those files back :)

Let Her Be Little

My good friend Julie has a wonderful children's boutique Called Let Her Be Little. Julie started making clothes for her little girl when she found it difficult to dress her like a little girl. As most of us mothers know, you walk into stores and they are full of clothes that belong on a 20 something tart. So finding clothes that are sweet and adorable can be hard to do especially as your little one goes from a size 18 month to a 4 or 5T. I actually get scared looking at what Emma could be wearing in a few years time. Then there are the shoes, right now there is a great selection of shoes for Emma to run and play in, but for some reason, the moment she is 3 you can't find a shoe with out a heal. Now tell me how she is suppose to look cute on the playground and still be able to play?? I am so fortunate that Julie has made some dresses especially for my little Emma. Below Emma is wearing a "Let Her Be Little" original. It is made of really soft fabric and is easy to wash and wear. Emma loves wearing this dress as it gives her plenty of room to move and play and she still gets to look cute on the playground. So if you have a little girl that needs a dress more age appropriate and fun to wear check out Julies shop at Let Her Be Little

In The Pink

Yesterday (Friday), Emma wore her new Giggle Moon outfit from her Grandma and Grandpa. It was for Valentines Day and purchased at Nordstrom. I usually don't like the tie over or button over shirts or outfits because they never lay very nice, but this one does! I love the satin ribbon trim and the cotton is really soft, the only draw back is that I can't lay Emma down for her nap in this outfit. The label in the collar clearly states "not intended for sleep", and I am sure that is due to the long ribbon that ties to the side as it may be a strangling hazard. But for a warm day out its wonderful. I have been forgetting to mention Emma's shoes. As you can see from the pictures that follow she is wearing her Pedipeds that my good friends the Zoo Buyers got for. She loves wearing them and even her pediatrician says they are the best for new little walkers (I just wish they came in my size).

After a full week of Play, nothing could be better than a visit from Godfather Michael. I caught the two of them in Emma's room reading right before bath time last night.

The Dandelion Series

In this photo shoot on Thursday, Emma is wearing a dress from the spring collection of John Lewis (a UK store). This dress is made of a really soft cotton and washes up great! Which means no ironing for mom and Emma still looks very smart. There is also room to grow in this dress and hopefully will last through the warm months to come.

I am sure that the next few post will seem more like a spring update for what's hot in Emma fashion more than anything else. Since Emma is now wearing 12 to 18 month sizes and we have had to do a bit of shopping not to mention the wardrobe of clothes grandma and grandpa brought back from the UK, I have been taking as many pictures as I can the last 3 days of Emma in her new clothes. First up is a lovely summer dress that Emma wore on Monday out to play in the park. It was very warm, but mom forgot the sunscreen that day so play time was short. What is so great about this dress is that it has a wonderful light cotton liner so that the design doesn't rub on her soft skin, it has bloomers to go under the dress, and there is room for Emma to grow. This outfit was bought in the UK.
Next up is an outfit Emma wore on Wednesday, it was a bit chilly and overcast so we got a chance to break out the Beatrix Potter outfit that Great Great Aunt Betty from Scotland got for her. It a Jemima Puddle Duck outfit in three parts. It is wonderfully soft and makes Emma extremely cuddly. It has a top, pants and wonderful soft vest style jumper that buttons down the back. It is perfect for the overcast cool mornings we get throughout the spring here in San Diego. I took these pictures just before we left on our morning walk. And what could make these pictures even more British is the Harrod's Bear that was given to Emma from her Great Aunt Linda and Uncle Stewart from England. Emma and her bear have many long conversations together and I am glad I got a series of shots that express that. The shot just below is Emma explaining to bear how her toy ladybug works. The ladybug is also from England purchase by Donald's co-workers from Car Phone Warehouse before we moved back to San Diego.
After we got back from our morning walk, I took off the vest style jumper and Emma sat down to read. I got a great shot of her eyelashes and just had to share with everyone how amazing they are

On Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner. They are back from the UK and had lots of surprises for Emma. I took Emma out back to play in the garden. As you can see from the photos that follow that Emma is in her pointing stage and wants mommy and daddy to name everything she points out.

Here she is after a very satisfying dinner getting Kevin to read to her out of one of the books grandma has for her at the house.
Aunt Andra LOVES her little Emma or "little L" as she likes to call Emma. I got some great pictures of the two of them playing. I hope everyone loves these photos as much as we do.
