Avery Comes For A Visit

August 8, 2010

My good friend Sarah had been dying to see Ewan and when I told her about my new iMac she came straight away. We wanted to see her little Avery too and I was dying to have Emma play with an older baby so she could see what Ewan would become.

Avery is such a beautiful little girl and Emma and her hit it off right away. Emma jumped right in and wanted to share all her toys with Avery. From building blocks to reading books Avery was entertained by Emma. I think Emma is going to make a wonderful Big Sister! Emma even helped Avery take her very first steps when she was visiting!

iMac and iPod Touch

August 6, 2010

I GOT AN iMAC!!!!!!

Donald and I have been talking about getting an iMac for a long time and we finally decided to take the plunge and get one. Thanks to the huge generosity of my dad and early birthday money from Donald's parents we were able to put in the rest and get the best of the best.

Our little laptop finally gave out about a month before Ewan was born, but since I was so exhausted I didn't think replacing the computer was tops on our list. So of course I started selling prints and need a computer badly so Donald let me use one of his for printing and order purposes. But I still didn't want to spend the money on a new computer till I was up to doing anything with it. We finally decided on an iMac, the largest screen you can get with the best processors and memory.

Donald kept saying we would order the iMac in late August early September because the new iMac was coming out with magic mouse and touch pad. And that the computer would be way better then the old iMacs. So I was shocked as shocked could be when we got a delivery on August 6. Donald had said he had ordered something for our sever so I just figured that this giant box now sitting in our living room was something to do with our Windows Home Server. I waited hours before I even bothered calling Donald at work to let him know his item had arrived. And that's when he told me what was in the box! It was the New iMac with the magic mouse, touch pad and everything the new iMacs could be! I couldn't think straight. I begged him to come home right away and set it up for me......and he did!!
I finally feel like a real artist with a real computer to work from. I can't believe how magical it is to have such a wonderful computer to work from. Of course there was something for everyone because with the iMac came and iPod touch which we loaded up with games and movies and books for Emma. So now she has her own iPod.
I've waited forever for such a wonderful computer and I can't wait to see the magic I will make with it. Best surprise ever Donald!!

Feeding Ewan

August 8, 2010At Ewan's 2 month check up the doctor recommended that we try to bottle feed Ewan since we hadn't done it yet. So a bit of pumping and a clean bottle later, Emma got to feed her little brother for the first time. She was over the moon.

Around The World Party

July 24, 2010

Grandma and Grandpa Honey Bunny went on another amazing trip this spring and went on a around the world Cruise. Starting in China and ending in the UK by the time the got back to San Diego they had gone around the world. The decided to have a party so all their friends could see the photos of their trip, hear wonderful stories and taste food from all the different countries they visited. Donald made his famous curry for the party and we headed out to the party.

Since they had been cruising around the world I thought it would be cute to put Emma and Ewan in nautical clothes. Emma was not at all keen on the idea and was in tears when I put her in her super cute sailor outfit. She didn't think she looked "cute" enough for the party. But when she got there and everyone couldn't stop saying how adorable she looked she cheered right up and wanted to wear nothing but her sailor dress for the next month.

Nancy and Lowell came out with their granddaughters and Emma was super happy to get to sit at the "big girls" table.
Sydney came to the party and so did Yasmine and Emma was over the moon with all the little girls there were to play with.

Ewan just being almost 2 months was content to be loved on by daddy.

It was a fun party with great food and wonderful friends and it wore out my two men.
We had to head for home as Emma's bedtime was approaching and Ewan was knocked out!
It didn't take long before my bed was full of my sleepy family.

Emma Get's Sick & We Get A Heat Wave

July 2010

Emma hasn't been sick in ages! But a small cold and cough got the best of her for a few days....Donald finally had to go back to work after sharing most of July with us, and unfortunately it also meant that he had a really long week ahead. Being the director of North American Sales for ESET he had a big half yearly week long meeting and with all his employees that were coming into town. So he was up and out of the house early every morning and then out at dinners every night so we were left on our own for a week. I think the earliest Donald got home was 11:30 at night. During that first week on my own with two kids (my parents were back in Colorado now so I was truly on my own for the first time) Emma got sick :( I felt horrible for her. And we got a heat wave which wouldn't have been that bad, but our AC broke and it didn't get repaired until the following week. So I was stuck at home with a new baby and sick 3 year old in 100 + weather with no AC and no fans :( oh and no husband ....

Emma had also given up napping shortly after her 3rd birthday so it was a HUGE surprise to find her sound asleep in her bed on the first day of her cold. She looked so precious that I had to take a picture before going to get Ewan who had just woken from one of his naps. So my happy surprise my little prince was so happy (even in this heat) he gave me the biggest toothless smiles! Oh that just made my week.

I returned to check on Emma only to find that she had moved from her bed to her purple chair and was still sound asleep.
I was so happy when Donald came home on Thursday night with 4 large fans to at least blow some air through the house. It made all the difference while we waited for the AC unit to be delivered and installed. It didn't get installed until the next week and by then the cooler temperatures had returned (thankfully) and we didn't use it at all until September.

Busy Emma

July 2010
Our little Emma is just as busy as always amazing us everyday with her expansive vocabulary, incredibly fun sense of humor, inspiring imagination, and the immense amount of love her little body is capable of holding giving and sharing.

Due to how absolutely amazing she has been as a new big sister with all her eagerness to help, share and love on her baby brother I surprised her with a new Tinker Bell backpack and t-shirt. She was over the moon!
Despite the mild summer we had we still found plenty of opportunities for a dip in the pool with her little friends. But most days it was just warm enough to have a picnic at the park. Here she is with Mikael, Sierra, and Yasmine.
Sometimes it amazes me how big she has gotten, I still remember a time when I would be racing around a playground and climbing up all the toys to make sure she didn't fall off and having to go down slides and up and down stair with her because she couldn't do it alone. Now I can sit on a bench and watch her do it all on her own.

We love that Emma loves the rain as much as we do. Here we are on our way to Dr Neglia's in Encinitas for Ewan's 1 month check up and it's drizzling out side and Emma asked to have her window down so she could feel the rain.

Emma and I love to build castles together, and then she plays for hours with it using her amazing imagination.

Sleeping Prince

July 2010

Like all little babies Ewan sleeps a lot....so we have a lot of pictures of our little sleeping prince

Emma and Ewan all cuddled up in our bed first thing in the morning. I don't think there is anything sweeter than our two little loves ♥

Afternoon nap

Getting in some sleep before the 1 month doctors appointment and shots. I just love baby toes!

Napping in the stroller at the beach.

Another morning in our bed.
We were just as lucky with Ewan as we were with Emma...By 9 weeks Ewan was sleeping from about 7 in the evening to 7 in the morning with no wake up times in the night. My babies love me!

It's Hot!

July 2010

We moved into a cute house in Rancho Bernardo only weeks after having Ewan and only about 10 houses away from Donald's parents. It's a wonderful neighborhood and we are directly across the street from a wonderful elementary school and the neighborhood club which includes a playground, tennis courts, basketball court, Jr Olympic size pool and Jacuzzi as well as kiddy pool, and racket ball courts. It's wonderful! We have a lovely little back and front yard and with our 2 story, three bedroom house. And our rent is less than what we were paying for a tiny little 2 bedroom apartment downtown. Aaah the joys of North County. Oh wait and it's a tad warm :)

A big thank you to Holly, Dave (Kung Fu Panda), Joe(cool), Kevin(you are not), Andra, Grandma and Grandpa (Sugar Lou), and Grandma and Grandpa (Honey Bunny) for all the help getting us into our new place! We couldn't have done it with out you ♥
