Scaring Daddy

Recently, Emma has been rather fond of the word no.  She utters it as an answer to almost every question.  So this morning, Suzanne and I were having some fun and asking her questions that we wanted to hear "no" answers to.

For example, I asked "Emma, do you think I should have to make breakfast this morning?"
"No."

"Should we get up and clean house?"
"No."

Then I asked, "Are you going to date boys?" and got the fright of my life.  Emma sat up a little straighter and said with all seriousness, "Date boys.  Date boys.  Date boys."  This is not a good omen.  Hours later in the car, while listening to music, Emma piped up with "Date boys.  Date boys.  Date boys."  I guess I learned my lesson.  The teenage years are going to age this already old man!

Halloween Preview

I went and checked out our friends, the Mauser's blog (see link off to the right) and saw that they had published a sneak peek at Lucas' costume. I too had taken a few quick shots of Emma the day Grandma dropped off her costume from our favorite catalog Chasing Fireflies. So I thought what a wonderful I idea, I too must publish some of Emma. Yes Emma is going to be Little Bo Peep. I am going to take better pictures (hopefully this weekend) but you can see just how cute she is going to be. What fun it is having a girl. I have 4 nieces and I don't think either of my sisters ever told me it could be this great with girls.

Mike's Birthday

Emma's Godfather had his birthday this last Sunday. But since it was a Charger game day we stayed in watched the game, cooked my famous risotto, ate a homemade cake, and had loads of laughs.

After Emma got up from her nap, her and Daddy decorated Emma's face, oh wait, I mean decorated the cake!

Emma finally showing true signs of being her mommy's daughter.

Getting ready to blow out the candles!

Emma enjoying cake for the first time :)

Thank you kisses for a lovely day

Tuesday Book Review

I asked Emma this time which book I should review for her blog. I love that she is becoming more vocal and will love the day that she will be typing and adding her own photos to this blog. But until then it's me doing it during her nap. Today she said "Foodie Babies Wear Bibs" well really she said "Foodie Babies!!" But I understood. It's actually the most recent book we have purchased for her and it falls in line with the "Urban Babies Wear Black" and the "Eco Babies Wear Green" that we got for her months ago. She loves all three. The illustrations are wonderful and the lines that go with it make us all laugh. I seriously suggest that if you have a little one in your home to go and get these books, there is a whole series of them (we only have 3) and they are all so much fun! Emma has learned the word butterfly, compost, green, black, yoga, taxi, garcon, opera and loads more words from us reading these happy books to her. Really great fun for mom and dad as well as baby.

Go Chargers!!

Football Season is here again. And of course our little Emma is ready to go and cheer on her Daddy's favorite team. These pictures were taken a few weeks back on Chargers opening game day. This year Emma is really into the sport. She loves to watch the game and gets really excited and claps a lot, says "Oh NO!" when there is a tackle, "Oopsy Daisy!" when someone falls, constantly reminds the players to "Share and take turns!" and over all is a great fan right along with Daddy. Our little Charger Girl!

An intense moment in the game

Mike arrives with Starbucks and munchies! YAY!!

With Daddy and Mike. This is about as shy as a picture I think we are ever going to get of Emma, since we all know how social she really is.

Since the Charges haven't been doing so good, after the games it's off to the park to chase Helicopters and blow off some steam!Oh, what a day!

It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No, It's a Helicopter!

Donald and Michael have helicopters and it's quite a lot of fun to watch all three of the kids go out to play. Emma thinks it's just about the best thing ever. Mike and Donald aren't very good with them yet, so Emma is a great help at running after the crash and picking up the pieces for them.
You really have to admire the effort and positive attitude Emma has when helping others, no task is impossible.
Time for a turn down the slide before heading home

Tuesday Book Review

I have to say that I just love having a little girl. Emma gives me even more opportunities to be super girly!! And I love it. I know it must just drive Donald crazy at times having two princesses in the house, but deep down we know he loves it too! This book is all things girly--This Little Piggy Went to Prada is a fun book of all your favorite nursery rhymes in words only the fashionable will enjoy. I first saw this book in Harrods (of course) while living in London but never purchased it sadly. But for my first Mother's Day last year I received it as a gift from my mother-in-law (hurray!) I love reading the poems to Emma and we both enjoy the art on each page. Very glamorous, fashionable, and fun for mothers and daughters alike. Even if you don't have a little one to share this with I would still recommend it as a fun book for the fashionably fun. What a laugh you'll have.
