It was wonderful having mom and dad out for a week and a half. We ran all over San Diego, going to the Del Mar Fair, shopping malls, and Starbucks. We also got to celebrate Donald's first fathers day where he got a new stroller for Emma (it's an Xplory complete by Stokke, we got the blue one) and a new knife for his chef skills ( a Shun)
Emma also got baptized! She did great!

The Godparents were Michael (Donald's best friend since he was 14 and my sister Bernadette)
Emma got the full immersion and she was the star of the day not to mention the most beautiful baby baptized
After it was all over a cuddle with mommy calmed her right down

Time for a new post!
Yes we know that it has been a while since our last post. Here are some pictures to explain why we have been too busy to post.
Grandpa visiting could hardly put Emma down for five minutes. They played for hours and hours. Emma is still looking around for Grandpa wondering if he will take mommy for Starbucks or tickle her before bedtime.

Grandma made sure she got her cuddles in where she could, sharing quite times and secrets.

Emma just keeps growing
After her 4 month check up she is now just over 14lbs and is 26 inches long! She has grown 6 inches since birth and has doubled her birth weight. She keeps amazing us every day with all that she can do. She giggles tons and always has a smile for us, which is really hard to capture on camera. Right now she is trying to help mommy type this out, her little hands are always so busy. Trying to feed her rice cereal has been a task and a half. I was living in dream land when I thought she would just lap it up from the beginning. But now that we are on our second week it is getting a bit better. The trick is all in the timing, she can't be to hungry or tired, and needs to be in the best of moods.
I do have newer photos of her, but can't get to them right now, so I promise to post more tomorrow. Enjoy this one of our little doll.

Guess who's 4 months old! And has a new highchair to eat her rice cereal!
Emma loves her new chair, and after her 4 month checkup tomorrow, she will get to start on rice cereal and we can hardly wait. She has been showing signs of wanting to eat for a few weeks now, so we went and got her a highchair for the up coming meals. We purchased a Trip Trap chair by Stokke. The idea of the chair (made and designed in the Netherlands) is to bring your child to the table, it promotes better table manners right from the beginning and makes the child feel more like part of the family at meal times, the chair will also adjust and grow with her through her toddler years and is a fun piece of furniture for the home. Check out their web site www.stokke.com , all of their designs are meant to grow with the child and make life more enjoyable for them.
After Daddy (AKA Donald) put together the chair, they watched a bit of NFL reruns, as they eagerly await the football season.

A wonderful first Mothers Day
It is so great being a mom to my little Emma. For so many years other moms have been telling me how wonderful it is to have your own children. But this was one of those times that I had to experience it for myself before understanding just how wonder it truly is. Every day is full of delight and joy and love. We keep asking each other, "Why did we wait so long to do this?" For so long it was only Donald and I, we were just a couple, now we are a family.
A few new images for you viewing pleasure.
